Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our real estate courses

How many CE hours does Alabama require?

AREC requires 15 hours of continuing education every 2 years for active Alabama real estate licensees. The 15 hours must include 3 hours of Risk Management (mandatory) and 12 hours of elective CE topics.

Alabama real estate licenses renew every 2 years on September 30 of even years (for licenses issued in even years) or odd years. Complete all 15 hours of CE by September 30 of your renewal year.

Yes. Fortune Academy automatically reports your CE completion to AREC within 24 hours of finishing the course. You receive a confirmation email and a printable certificate.

Yes. Fortune Academy's 15-hour Alabama CE package is 100% online and AREC-approved. No classroom, no proctoring — study at your pace.

AREC approves a wide range of elective CE topics including agency, contracts, property management, fair housing, real estate investment, appraisal, and technology. Fortune Academy bundles popular electives.

If you miss your renewal deadline, AREC places your license in expired status. You can reinstate with completed CE plus late fees within a grace period. Beyond that, you must retake the licensing exam.

Alabama brokers have the same 15-hour biennial CE requirement as salespersons — including the 3-hour Risk Management component. Fortune Academy's package works for both license types.

Most students finish the 15-hour AL CE package in 1–2 weeks studying evenings and weekends. Self-paced — complete as quickly as AREC allows or spread across the 2-year cycle.
