Frequently Asked Questions

How many hours of CE does Florida require?

FREC requires 14 hours of continuing education every 2 years for active Florida real estate sales associates and brokers. The 14 hours must include 3 hours of FREC-approved Core Law and 3 hours of Ethics and Business Practices, with 8 additional hours of elective CE.

Florida real estate licenses are issued on a 2-year cycle tied to your birth month. Your renewal is due every 24 months by March 31 or September 30 (depending on initial licensure date). Complete all 14 hours of CE by your renewal deadline.

Yes. Fortune Academy automatically reports your CE completion to DBPR within 24 hours of finishing the course. You'll receive a confirmation email and a printable certificate for your records.

Yes. Fortune Academy's 14-hour FL CE package is 100% online and FREC-approved. No classroom, no scheduling, no proctoring — study at your own pace on any device.

FREC approves a wide range of elective CE topics including property management, valuation, fair housing, contracts, investment real estate, risk management, new construction, and technology. Fortune Academy bundles the most popular electives into your 14-hour package.

If you miss your renewal deadline, DBPR will place your license in involuntary inactive status. You can reactivate by completing the required CE plus a reactivation fee. If you stay inactive for more than 2 years, your license is cancelled and you must start over.

Florida brokers and sales associates have the same 14-hour biennial CE requirement — including the 3-hour Core Law and 3-hour Ethics components. Only first-time brokers need to complete the additional 60-hour post-licensing, which is one-time, not recurring.

Most students finish the 14-hour FL CE package in 1–2 weeks studying evenings and weekends, but it's self-paced — you can complete it as fast as FREC allows (you must log the minimum hours) or spread it across the 2-year cycle.
