Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our real estate courses

How many CE hours does Georgia require to renew a real estate license?

Georgia requires 36 hours of GREC-approved Continuing Education every 4 years to renew a salesperson license. For agents in their first renewal cycle (after completing 25-hour post-licensing), GREC accepts a 27-hour CE package that includes mandatory ethics. Fortune Academy offers both options.

Georgia real estate licenses renew every 4 years. Renewal dates are based on the original license anniversary — check your exact renewal deadline in your GREC online account. Start your 36-hour CE 6 months before renewal to avoid last-minute scrambling.

Yes. GREC requires GA real estate licensees to include ethics training in every CE renewal cycle. Fortune Academy includes the required ethics course in our 36-hour full CE package and our 27-hour first-renewal package — you never have to track it separately.

The 36-hour package is for agents in their SECOND or later renewal cycle — i.e., agents who already completed post-licensing AND at least one previous 4-year CE cycle. The 27-hour first-renewal package is for agents in their FIRST renewal after completing the 25-hour post-licensing. Choose based on your current renewal cycle.

Yes. Fortune Academy offers the full 36-hour (and 27-hour first-renewal) GA CE online in self-paced format. Study on any device, pause and resume anytime, download certificates instantly, and your completion is reported to GREC automatically.

If you fail to complete your 36-hour CE by your renewal date, your GA real estate license will lapse and become inactive. You cannot practice real estate with an inactive license. Reactivation requires completing the CE plus paying penalty fees. Fortune Academy offers fast-track CE packages that can be finished in 5–7 days if you're close to your deadline.

Fortune Academy's GA CE packages are competitively priced. The full 36-hour bundle is the most economical way to meet your renewal. Individual 3-hour and 4-hour electives are also available. Pricing is shown on this page — see package options to the right.

GREC only accepts CE completed from providers specifically approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission. CE completed in other states does NOT satisfy GA renewal requirements. Fortune Academy is GREC-approved and all our GA CE courses are fully state-approved.

Fortune Academy offers a broad library of GREC-approved elective topics for GA CE: property management essentials, commercial real estate, fair housing updates, technology & risk management, agency in practice, contracts, short sales, senior market, investment strategies, and veteran homebuyer specialty. Pick topics relevant to your practice.

No. Extra CE hours completed in one renewal cycle do NOT carry over to the next 4-year cycle. GREC requires a fresh 36 hours within each 4-year renewal period. Plan your CE each cycle independently — think of CE as ongoing professional development, not banked credit.
