Your Path to Becoming a Licensed Agent
Follow these 5 simple steps to start your real estate career in Washington
Complete 90 hours of approved Pre-Licensing education.
Successfully complete an approved 90 clock-hour Pre-Licensing course.
Pass the course final exam.
After you complete all the course materials, meet the minimum time requirement, and pass the practice exam, there is a course final exam. The minimum passing score is 75%
Pass the Real Estate Salesperson Exam.
The D.C. license test, which is given by PSI, is the next step, which you must take and pass. The test has two parts: a national component with 80 questions and a time limit of 120 minutes, and a state part with 30 questions and a time limit of 90 minutes.
Choose a Sponsoring Broker.
To begin your new career, you must be sponsored by an active D.C. real estate Broker. It’s important to find a good fit when picking a Broker to work with as it’s a key factor to becoming a successful D.C. real estate agent.
Complete the application for licensure.
After passing the licensing exam, you will submit a licensing application
